A Fresh Start...For Us All

WELCOME TO OUR NEW
HOME!!!

It has been a long time coming, but we are finally moved in to our new digs permanently!  I am beyond thrilled with the layout Kristi created for me.  She created a lovely spot for me to record my life, my thoughts, and my feelings.  She captured who I am and what my life is about.
Thank you sweet friend.

The title
Rare and Beautiful Treasures
comes from Proverbs 24:3-4
which says,
"By wisdom a house is built,

and through understanding it is established;

through knowledge its rooms are filled

with rare and beautiful treasures."

As I establish a new home literally and figuratively
my prayer is that God will grant me the wisdom to
do it His way.
That I would always remember that it's not
what's in my home, it's whose in my home
that matters most.
My two rare and beautiful treasures are named
Cade and Gracyn.

This is our story, our journey, our plan B.

We started out our journey with the beginning of
a new school year...for all three of us!

I have a kindergartener!

It still ShOcKs me to type those words, even though we are two weeks into the school year.

I am happy to report though, that he is absolutely loving kindergarten!!!
Cade is enrolled in a dual language program in which he spends half his week in an English speaking classroom and the other half in a  Spanish speaking classroom.  This program enables children to learn a second language based on an immersion approach.
Each English speaking student is assigned a Spanish speaking buddy to help them assimilate into their Spanish classroom.
Cade thinks his little buddy is, in his words...
"totally awesome."

Gracyn began a Tues/Thurs Mother's Day Out program last week.

She was very reserved
{um, totally unlike her...she's normally personality plus :)}
at Meet The Teacher, but cried when my Mom dropped her off for her first REAL school day!
Luckily the director called my Mom a little later to inform her that the tears had subsided and Gracie was happily riding a trike around the gym with her class!

Is she a class cutie or what?!?!
I think she is enjoying her new friends and has been asking,
"when does "widdle school" start again!

I started school on the first day in a substitute position which opened up at the last minute...literally like 2 days before the first day!!!  You will never believe this, but the position was at Cade's school...IN HIS GRADE LEVEL.
Several times this summer I went to interview for other positions which did not turn into job offers...little did I know God had bigger and better plans for me.  I just kept praying that He had something in the works for me...
That substitute position turned into a job offer the second week of school.  I am officially employeed as a kindergarten teacher once again.  It has been 5 years since I left the classroom when I was pregnant with Cade, but what a way to make a re-entrance!
Not on my terms or in my time , but in God's time and in His plan.
I am so thankful to be so close to my little man.  My classroom is directly across the hall from his.  We visit with each other at lunch everyday.  We wink to one another in the hallways and he is the first person I see at the end of my work day.

Indeed, I am a blessed girl.
